IMPORTANT REMINDERS!
Passports Required for 2007
Passports will be required for travel anywhere outside
of the US in 2007 and beyond! There is a rush these
last few months at the Passport processing centers, as
everyone is waiting to the last minute to get their
passports. Normal processing time can take 6 to 8
weeks, so don't delay any longer. If you are denied
boarding because you do not have a passport, you will not be
entitled to any kind of refund. Travel insurance won't
even cover you for this mistake in judgment.

Land and Sea Amendment
09/29/06
Congress approved an
amendment that delays implementation until June 1, 2009 the
requirement for passports for land crossings at the Canadian
and Mexican borders and for cruise passengers returning to
the U.S. from Mexico, the Caribbean, Canada or Bermuda
through the same date. All U.S. citizens, however, will
need passports for travel by air starting Jan. 8, 2007, as
previously proposed.
Global Dream Vacations highly recommends that you acquire a
passport, no matter when, or where you are traveling.
Travel in the US
We
recently had a client that purchased a trip for herself and
her family. Sadly, at the airport she realized that one of
her relatives didn't have a photo ID. This person was
denied boarding, and our client lost the cost of the trip
for that family member.
Please remember that everyone traveling who is 16 years old
or older must have a valid Government issued photo ID like a
driver’s license. If you don't have a driver’s license, you
can apply for a photo ID at the license bureau. If you are
under age 16, a Government issued photo ID is not required,
but we encourage you to get one. It is a small expense, and
provides peace of mind that you have a way to identify your
child/children.
